Chaos is still undefeated after 6 games this season. Last night we played Off The Wall to a 3-3 draw which lead to another round of PK’s. For some reason the season has had loads of draws, more so then any other time I can remember. Maybe we are all becoming more level making it a more level division.
Darcy was once again outstanding in goal saving 2 of the 3 PK against her. Steph made the final PK giving us the win… No pressure Steph!
I’m sorry I missed this one. The score was 6-2 Chaos win against Thunder Cats. From my sources Jessica A. got a goal, Roxane got 2 goals and Jamie got a hat trick. Of course Sue dislocated her finger and had to leave for the hospital. She is doing well and bragging about her soccer wound. Thanks Melissa for going to the hospital. Once again defense did an awesome job.
Well done Chaos 3 wins in 3 games.
Last Wednesday we had practice at World Cup since we had a bye this week. I went over to checkout the standings and low and behold this is what I found. This is the standings after 2 weeks.
We always joke because at the beginning of the season we are first because of our name starting with “C” but this time it’s because of our two wins.
This weeks game was against Off the Wall. It was also an early game but everyone made the effort to get there and be ready. Chaos started strong and within the first 10 minutes Mary Jo, who was defending got the first goal of the game and her first goal for the team.
Way to go Mary Jo.
I’m not sure if Off the Wall got the next goal of if Roxane got out 2nd goal but they were pretty close. We were ahead at the half time. Everyone was really working hard and Off the Wall was running us around for sure.
In the 2nd half we were all tied up 2-2. Melissa got into a collision against the wall and hurt her ankle. Off the Wall was working hard to get that third goal but our defense never backed down. Darcy was stopping everything that came her way and I never seen her throw herself to the ground in a game like this one. I wonder how she is feeling today. Game ended in a draw 2-2 but there are no draws in Indoor so we went to penalty kicks…
Darcy was in goal for the first shot… Boom she smacked it out of the way.
Roxane took the first kick for Chaos and nailed it.
Darcy goes back in goal for the second shot, again she hit it out of the way. All we need is to make this next shot.
Stephanie stepped up to take the next shot. The Off the Wall Keeper got a touch on it but it was hit too hard to stop it, goal!!!! Way to go Steph!
I was reading an article about how sit-ups and crunches are no long recommended due the the damage it can do to your back. One of the things the article said was to include push-ups into your workout program.
For me I have to complete a Physical Fitness test which includes sit-ups, push-ups, sit and reach and running. The Push-ups are by far my weakest part of the test. I think this is because of several reasons, the sports I prefer work the lower body, Women over 40 start to lose their upper body muscle and I just don’t like push-up.
This site has a program to build you up to 100 push-ups. If anything it’s an interesting resource to include in your workout routine.
Our first game of the summer was against Rosa’s Bimbos. It started out fast and physical. The scored stayed 0-0 for most of the first half but then Rocky made the first goal.
In the second half both teams came out strong and Rocky made another goal. Then some how sneaked a player behind our defense and scored their first goal, the score was now 2-1. Then Jessica A. made our 3rd goal off a rebound off the wall. Timing was everything. The Bimbos kept working trying for another goal but our defense held tight.
Everyone did a great job, heard more talking out there and great passing. We need to try and work the line, passing more along the sides and looking up for the yellow shirt. This team gave us lots of time to handle the ball but we still rushed our kicks a bit.
Next week is a 6pm game which means Pizza and Beer afterwards…
Tonight Chaos plays Rosa’s Bimbos (Beer drinking Bimbos). We will miss Maria and Pam as they move on to other places and activities. We welcome Steph back for the summer from Forte and welcome two new Chaos players, Jessica T. and Jamie. We have lots of players and hope to have another fun season.
I will try and post a game highlights write up after every game for those who miss the game but want to get the low-down on what happened. I’m also going to try and get some more photos this season and post them so keep an eye out.
Tonight we will get the schedule and you can find that on the calendar tab.
